Controlled lid closing that keeps tray packs stable downstream
The LA is designed to fold and glue cardboard lids onto trays in a controlled, repeatable process. It is typically installed in-line where trays with filled product are conveyed into the lid application area.
Lids are transported from the magazine to the folding position. Before the lid reaches its final position, glue guns apply hot melt adhesive at specified points to secure the lid to the tray. The tray with product is then conveyed under the lid, after which the lid is lowered onto the tray, folded into place, and maintained until the glue has hardened.
The base machine is configured for trays with a symmetrical “shoe box” lid. U-type lids are available as an option.
